Beautiful Beginnings

I made a few blankets for friends as gifts and they were a hit. So I have been taking orders for custom burp cloths and blankets and have been getting great feedback. They make great baby shower gifts!

Check out some of the things I have done so far: http://beautifulbeginningsblankets.blogspot.com/

New (Old) Highchair

Grandma came in town this weekend to babysit while we went to Chad and Amy's wedding. She had been working hard to sand and repaint my brother, sister and my old highchair. Brady needs to work on sitting up a little more before we can really use it but he seems to like it.

So nice to have my little one eating in the same highchair as his Uncle Brad, Aunt Emmy and his mama did.

Thanks Mom! It turned out great!

A Day at the Pool

I have been dying to take Brady swimming. He just loves the bath and I hope he will love the boat and the lake but figured we needed to start him off in a pool.

Andy and I took him to Julie’s apartment complex pool. The water was pretty cold and at first he was really quiet- just taking it all in. After a few minutes he started kicking his legs and splashing around. He was smiling and laughing before long.

I don't think we will have any problems with Brady and swimming!

Thanks for the outfit Niki!

Solids

We started rice cereal on the 7th. Brady had been eying our food while we ate and opening his mouth every time we took a bite so we decided it was time to introduce him to “solids.” His doctor recommends waiting to start anything besides rice cereal until after 6 months so for now this is all he gets. But he seems to like it well enough.

Yes, he is sitting in his Bumbo on the table. Yes, I know you are not supposed to use the Bumbo on a raised surface. He is in the middle of the table with me sitting right there- he would have to do a crazy jump to get himself out of the Bumbo and to the edge of the table.

Cinco de Mayo

Happy Cinco de Mayo(a day late)! Brady turned 5 months old yesterday. Hard to believe it has been that long since this little one came into our lives and changed them forever.

Sitting

As a parent, we are proud of everything our children do.

Brady can sit*!

*for a few seconds before toppling to one side or another :)

Bluebonnets

On Thursday, Brady and I met Whitnie and Rhett at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower center to attempt bluebonnet pictures. I never really paid attention to when the bluebonnets start to die off- but apparently it is about mid April. A few weeks ago there were fields filled with thousands of bluebonnets, now have only a few small patches. So we had to make due with what we had.

And as it turns out, little boys are more interested in the rocks they are sitting on then the beautiful bluebonnets that Texas is famous for. Well- we tried!
