Matt, Jeff and Cassie are here!

My friend, Laura, had her triplets on Thursday.  I got to go to the NICU last night to visit them.  There are all doing amazingly well! Cassie was 5 pounds 8 ounces, Matthew was 4 pounds 9 ounces and Jeffery was 4 pounds 8 ounces.  All very big and very healthy for triplets!  They all have feeding tubes but are learning to drink bottles, Jeff and Cassie each had a bottle while I was there last night.

Miss Laura holding Jeffery for the first time.
Matthew sound asleep in his little plastic world.  He is still on a little bit of oxygen.
Cassie just had a bottle and went right back to sleep.  Look how red her skin is- but they said that is perfectly fine and it will fade with time.
I got to help the nurse with their assessments... so I was in charge of taking their temps, changing their diapers and rubbing their super soft baby skin.    :)

Veteran's Memorial Pool

We went to Veteran's Memorial Pool on Friday to play and stay cool.  Brady had a blast on the slides and sprinklers!

We were there for about 5 hours... after being in the car for 5 minutes, Brady was out!

Krause Springs

Andy works with a guy whose family owns Krause Springs, the pictures online are beautiful so we decided to go check it out.  It is a really neat place.
Check out the size of this tree- this may be the biggest tree I have ever encountered.

Brady and Andy are inside a tree trunk.  Brady was not too keen on the idea of going in but he was pretty happy once he did it.
Can you believe this is in Texas?
This is all spring fed and the water was COLD!  Andy swam out to the waterfall with Brady on his back.  I stayed on the shore where it was nice and warm.

Brady loves to take pictures.  He would say "Stand together" and motion with is little arms.  After he took the pictures he'd say "Now this time make a crazy face like this..." and stick out his tongue and make silly noises.  Such a nut!

We hiked all thought the forest (as Brady calls it) in search of this waterfall- we could hear it but it took awhile to find it.  Isn't it beautiful?!?

Perhaps we'll go camping here some day.
This man made pool is also spring fed so it is super cold.

We had a great day and will be headed back soon!

Pretty Amazing

Tonight we were on our way home from a friends house who lives on the other side of town.  There are train tracks along a stretch of the highway and Brady kept asking when we would be by the train tracks.  Finally we were driving along next to the tracks and Brady said "God is getting the trains out of his train box for me." About a minute or two later, Andy and I noticed the bright headlight of an oncoming train.  When Brady saw the train, he said "Thanks God!" with a big smile on his face.  It was pretty amazing.

Boating with Buddies

Ben and Ms Jaime came out on the boat with us yesterday.  Brady loved having a buddy with us.  The had a great time riding on the tube and kept telling Andy to go "faster, faster!"

Doggie Play Date

Today we went to the dog park with some friend up the street who also have a puppy.  Brady loved throwing rocks in the water, following Max everywhere and doing everything he does.  Macy and Dodger played chase, splashed each other and swam a little too.

Jobs for Brady

Brady now has his very own jobs that he is in charge of completing everyday (or some every week).  We decided to call them jobs rather than chores and so far Brady loves doing them.

One of his jobs is to wipe down all the baseboards downstairs every week.  He also has to unload his backpack and lunchbox on school/camp days, make his bed, set the table (I wanted him to do silverware and napkins but he insists on doing plates and glasses too), wipe his bathroom counter before bed, and a "Parent's Choice."
Brady in action....
A proud little man just checked another job off his board... check out his new wallet in his hands.

And the girls watching from the sidelines... aren't they cute?

Run!

This morning we went to the middle school to run around the track and play soccer on the field.  It was hot but the kids had fun for about an hour.  Then we headed to the pool to cool off!
