Cedar Park Rodeo

On Saturday night we went to the Cedar Park Rodeo... to be honest I wasn't expecting much but it was really good! Brady liked watching the cowboys and would yell "Good ride!" and clap for them. It was pretty cute. He even wore his cowboy boots (thanks Bryson!) and insisted Daddy wear his too.

Will was nice enough to share his colored pencils and coloring books with Brady.
Brady lost interest in the rodeo when he discover Brookely. She was so sweet to him and let him "read" over her shoulder and play on her ipod.

We stayed till the very end... we didn't get home until after 10:30 and the entire way home Brady kept saying "It's dark out... way past my bedtime." He was in a great mood the entire night but woke up at 7:15 the next morning. Oh well!!

Happy Father's Day (late of course)

Grammy and Gramps came to visit us on Father's Day weekend.

We went to an Express Game on Friday night. Brady and I shared a pint of ice cream (we picked Daddy's favorite flavor but apparently a beer sounded better to him).

Brady didn't mind at all- he got every last drop!

We headed to Chuck-E-Cheese last Tuesday to enjoy some fun in the air conditioning.

We also hit up the Snoopy Fire truck outside of Randall's...

Good times!!

T-Ball with Mama

Daddy and Brady like to play baseball in the front yard but Daddy was working so Brady had to settle for Mama. He made some really good hits and was very proud when he hit the ball "super far!"

Look over Brady shoulder- a deer hanging out in the neighbor's yard watching Brady play. Perhaps the one who eats my gerber daisies in the dark of night. There is also a mama deer and two tiny little babies living in the little creek bed behind the house.

Brady also loves the tree swing Grandpa Rollie made him- he likes to go "super high in the clouds" and if he doesn't think you pushed him high enough he will let you know!

Sometimes Brady sits sideways on the swing and says it is his paddle boat... not sure how but hey.

On a side note- the mouse/mice/rats have been ignoring our traps (one even had the nerve to poop right in front of a trap!) so yesterday we got serious and bought the sticky traps. So far all we caught was one large black lab. Poor Hadley. After a bath in baby oil she was as good as new. Hopefully tonight we get the little stinkers- or they could just move out! I would be happy with that too! As Andy says- "it's like the freaking discovery channel around here" :)

A Few Family Photos

We headed out to Whitnie and Steve's house last weekend to get some pictures of their family. Whitnie was nice enough to take some of us while we were there.

Mouse Trap- This is NOT a Game

On Tuesday night, Hadley was barking for hours and I couldn't figure out why. The next morning I found mouse droppings in the garage- YUCK!! So yesterday Brady and I headed to Home Depot once again- this time in search of mouse traps. After after standing there and considering all of our options for about 30 minutes, I decided that poison is just too dangerous with Brady and the dogs around. And I sure didn't want to see the mice- dead or alive- so that eliminated the sticky traps and the old fashion spring traps. So we settled on 3 different types of container bait traps. These traps are designed to "Kill and Contain" the mouse. I baited them with dog food (since that seems to be what is attracting them in the first place) and waited. I didn't have to wait long- I went into the garage to see the dogs and saw a tail sticking out of one of the traps. The mouse was contained but it certainly had not been killed. We could hear it trying to get out- and it was driving the dogs nuts. Of course it happened on the night Andy was working so I just left it there all night. This morning it was still moving around a little bit but Andy put the trap in a bag and took it to a dumpster. While I am happy the trap worked, I would have preferred not to have to see the tail sticking out as it thrashed about. That said, our battle is not over. Last night there was only one dog biscuit left in the cookie container and this morning it was gone. So our one trapped mouse was not working alone! YUCK, YUCK, YUCK!

A Few More Vacation Pictures

We tried to get a good family picture while at the beach.... Brady is not a huge fan of having his picture taken but he tried...

Gramma Dar got the boys matching "All American" t shirts. They looked very cute all lined up. Can't wait to do that every summer and see how they all change!

Brady really liked Elle's cowboy hat- he looked super cute in it. Too bad it was silver sparkles!

A Trip to the Beach

We loaded up the cars and headed to the beach for some fun in the sun and sand. The entire family came except for Grandpa Rollie.
Brady and I rode down with the Brandon gang which B enjoyed!

We had a great trip!
