Brady's First Plane Trip

We went to MN last weekend for ANdy's cousin's wedding. It was Brady's first time on a plane.

Brady had a great time pushing the stroller around the waiting area while we waited for our plane to arrive.

He also liked watching the planes and trucks and people from up high in the airport window.
All in all Brady did very well on the plane. He talked and played and even slept for about an hour!

The Pumpkin Patch

This afternoon we went to Rudy's to have brisket for lunch. This little boy loves BBQ! Then we went to a Pumkin Patch at the Church up the street. Brady wasn't sure what to make of hay at first but as always he had fun exploring!

Double Digits!

Today is a big milestone in Brady's life- he hit double digits (in months that is)! Brady is 10 months old today. And as always, we took his monthly picture in his chair. Every month seems to add new challenges to the monthly chair photo. I think we took about 20 picture just to get one of him sitting and smiling.

Brady loves baths and is in a very good mood when he gets out of the tub! Doesn't look like a baby ready for bed does he?

Grandpa always tells me that Brady needs sunglasses- Brady has sunglasses but we hardly ever bother putting them on because it just doesn't last. I don't think we made it to the end of the driveway before he pulled them off.
But he has discovered an alternate use for them...
Our little man has been quite the helper around the house- there is no task too big for him!

Brady has discovered just about everything in our house, from toilets to the fireplace to the stairs to Hoss's kennel, etc. Baby-proofing the house and "re-directing" his attention is an endless task. Recently he has started biting- sometimes because he is upset and sometimes just because he can. He even tries to bite the dogs but so far I don't think they have even noticed his little teeth!

Enjoying the cooler weather

So the cooler weather decided to hang around for a few days. The dogs were frisky and Brady loved watching the rain (and occasionally kissing or licking the storm door).
Where Brady is you can almost always find Tyson too!

Yesterday was our 4 year anniversary- we celebrated with a nice steak dinner. Brady joined us and got to try steak, shrimp and even a tiny bite of vanilla ice cream. He liked it all but I think he liked being the center of attention best! For our anniversary we got a new microwave- yea! Well not really but our new microwave just happened to be delivered the day before so I guess it counts. We installed it ourselves- and it works!

Welcome Fall!!

Yesterday was the first day of Fall and it actually felt like Fall! After a VERY HOT and dry summer we are ready for some cooler weather. Fall started with a cold front that dropped temps into the 60's and brought over 3 inches of much needed rain. We were excited to get out the long sleeves and long pants (I know some of you Yankees don't think the 60's are reason for long pants and long sleeves but to us Southerners that is borderline cold)!

We even got to turn off the a/c and open windows. It looks like it will be short lived- should be back up in the high 80's this afternoon- but it was fun while it lasted!

A Longhorn was Born December 5, 2008

and initiated into the club on September 19, 2009. Brady attended his first Longhorn football game last night. He was a trooper! He and I went to tailgate- twice (we had to go home to attempt- unsuccessfully- an afternoon nap!) Brady did great during the entire game. He was so busy looking at all the lights, people and sounds. I jumped when the canon went off but he didn't seem to care. He loved making faces at the people behind us and pulling the lady's hair in front of us (fortunately she has a granddaughter about his age so she loved him)! He had Rudy's brisket for lunch and a BBQ sandwich for dinner which he loved- he is his father's son!
Brady stole Daddy's hat and enjoyed playing with it for most of the 4th quarter. Not much for actually watching the game but give him a few seasons to learn the ropes and he will be just like Daddy!
Brady did his best to distract Daddy from the game- not to mention everyone within 20 yards of him.
We made it through the entire game without any meltdowns. He didn't get to bed until just after midnight. It was a long day but he did wonderful. He passed the test!

The Jensons were off to a slow start this morning- Brady was the last one up, he didn't wake up till 9:45! To recover from a long day of tailgating and football, we started the day off with blueberry pancakes. Brady loved them- and he LOVES to feed himself. Mama and the spoon are no longer needed. I was nervous that his face would be blue for days but fortunately it didn't stain his skin- his pj's are a different story!

Even the biggest football fan needs a nap after a big game day!

Hilary got some great pictures of him at the game so I will post more when I have them.

You can learn a lot...

by having older friends. We went to the park today with a good friend and her son who is about 11 months older than Brady. Rhett is an extremely smart kiddo and he was showing Brady the ropes...

He taught Brady how to drive the fire truck

And the art of giving and receiving head bonks

He is also teaching Brady to give "pat pats" and "knuckle knocks" because that is what all the cool kids do.

A day at the park can't be all fun and games- they have to get upset at some point... (I can honestly say that I have no idea why they are making these faces!)

Apparently Brady was not ready to man the fire truck alone!

We packed a lunch a had a picnic on one of the few grass spots by the play scape, we were having a great time until a very bold squirrel decided to join us. I have never seen a "wild" animal so unafraid of people. Despite Rhett continually telling him "No No Squirrel" and me chasing him off- that little guy just kept coming back for more! I think we were more afraid of him than he was of us!
