Getting Crowded

For the last week, Brady has been keeping his "friends" close at all time. The four pound puppies (Brownie, Blackie and the 2 "fire truck dogs") and a monkey named Tex have joined the ranks of puppy, doggie and blanket. Of course blanket still the favorite but he needs all his "friends" to sleep with him. Mama and Daddy are not even allowed to sit on the bed for stories or prayers because of all his friends. I see where we stand.

On day 8 of medicine for his strep throat, Brady got a rash. I think it looks horrible but he does not seem to be bothered by it at all. Of course it showed up just after the doctor's office closed on Friday evening.

On Friday night we headed to the Round Rock Express baseball game with some friends where Brady "caught" a foul ball. He was super excited but he thought he had to give it back to the players. When we told him that they found another ball and he got to keep the one he caught, he was a very happy boy. The ball really hit the empty seats behind us, bounce forward, was slowed down by the side of my face before landing in the row in front of us. The guy picked it up and immediately handed it to Brady. But Brady is sticking to his story... he caught the ball! I forgot my camera- sorry no pictures!

Little Trickster

Is it no secret that we have been battling wildlife lately. Deer, skunks, and rats seem to be our biggest pests. We have had mice or rats in the shed, garage and even had one die in the wall of our bathroom. Needless to say that it stunk to high heaven for 2 weeks while the little booger decomposed in our wall. YUCK!

The other day, Brady was walking from the dinning room in to the kitchen and he stopped dead in his tracks. I asked him what was wrong and he whispered "Mama- there's a mouse..." I said "What? Where?" Again he whispered "He's hiding" then he looked at me and started to laugh. What in the world?? Where did he learn to play tricks on people?

And there are some things we DO NOT kid about... mice in the house is definitely one of them!

Wiped Out

Brady woke up from his nap on Thursday with a 99.5 degree fever. On Friday morning he just did not have any energy so I took him to the Dr. Poor guy had strep throat. This is all he did on Friday.. he did not even have the energy to stand up to go potty.

After a few days on meds, he is feeling much better. We even got out to take the dogs for a walk. Brady likes to walk Hadley but sometimes he just lets go of her leash.

A New Splash Park

Today we headed to Cedar Park to check out a new splash park. Brady and Ben had a blast...

Harlow on the other hand was not in the mood to get wet. She would not even put on her swim suit.

Excuse Me...?

The past few days Brady has been saying things that sound so grown up for a 2 year old. Sometimes he stops me in my tracks with comments and other times I find myself laughing out loud and wondering where he learned that! A few examples...

This morning, Brady was playing with a toy boat and I asked him for a kiss. He responded "I am working on something right now Mama." I said "So I can't have a kiss?" and he said "Nope, not right now. I am WORKING on something." Well... excuse me little man!

The other day Brady was watching Curious George when Andy turned on his Sonicare tooth brush, Brady said "That's loud! Turn it down please Daddy."

One morning while playing in his room, Brady turned to me and said "It's hot Mama. Turn on the air please."

There have been others... I need to write them down before I forget them. He is just so funny.

Lake Austin

Last Sunday we headed to Lake Austin and Uncle Dan, Courtney and Mack met us there.
Brady was all about driving with Daddy until Mack showed up... then Daddy was on his own.

A fun game of Mack getting Brady's hand if he isn't fast enough.

This was Brady's new game- he hangs his little bum off the platform and kicks his little heart out... good practice I guess.

Friends Over

This morning, we had friends over to play while their mama was busy. They were all so cute and sweet to each other!

Hadley and Tyson had to get in on the action too.

To Dallas We Go

Last weekend Brady and I headed to Dallas to see Em, Bob, Luke and Gremma Dar (Grandpa Rollie was there for a day too but we didn't get any pictures of him). We spent a lot of time in their pool... how nice to just walk out your back door and hop in!

There is a great park 2 blocks away from their house that has a splash pad. It was Luke's first time at the splash pad but he seemed to enjoy it!

And of course we had to play trains!
Brady made it till 2 and a half before having McDonalds... he liked the hamburger but the apple slices were the big winner.

Making Daddy's Day

Last week, Andy, Brady and I headed out for a round of golf. Brady loved it. He would carry his club just like Daddy. Sometimes Brady wanted help with his swing and other times he insisted on doing it all by himself. We carefully explained the rules of the game but I don't think Brady was buying it yet...

I think this outing gave Andy great hope for the days and years golfing with Brady! On Friday Brady kept begging to go to the golf course- a boy after his Daddy's heart!
