Enjoying the cooler weather

So the cooler weather decided to hang around for a few days. The dogs were frisky and Brady loved watching the rain (and occasionally kissing or licking the storm door).
Where Brady is you can almost always find Tyson too!

Yesterday was our 4 year anniversary- we celebrated with a nice steak dinner. Brady joined us and got to try steak, shrimp and even a tiny bite of vanilla ice cream. He liked it all but I think he liked being the center of attention best! For our anniversary we got a new microwave- yea! Well not really but our new microwave just happened to be delivered the day before so I guess it counts. We installed it ourselves- and it works!

Welcome Fall!!

Yesterday was the first day of Fall and it actually felt like Fall! After a VERY HOT and dry summer we are ready for some cooler weather. Fall started with a cold front that dropped temps into the 60's and brought over 3 inches of much needed rain. We were excited to get out the long sleeves and long pants (I know some of you Yankees don't think the 60's are reason for long pants and long sleeves but to us Southerners that is borderline cold)!

We even got to turn off the a/c and open windows. It looks like it will be short lived- should be back up in the high 80's this afternoon- but it was fun while it lasted!

A Longhorn was Born December 5, 2008

and initiated into the club on September 19, 2009. Brady attended his first Longhorn football game last night. He was a trooper! He and I went to tailgate- twice (we had to go home to attempt- unsuccessfully- an afternoon nap!) Brady did great during the entire game. He was so busy looking at all the lights, people and sounds. I jumped when the canon went off but he didn't seem to care. He loved making faces at the people behind us and pulling the lady's hair in front of us (fortunately she has a granddaughter about his age so she loved him)! He had Rudy's brisket for lunch and a BBQ sandwich for dinner which he loved- he is his father's son!
Brady stole Daddy's hat and enjoyed playing with it for most of the 4th quarter. Not much for actually watching the game but give him a few seasons to learn the ropes and he will be just like Daddy!
Brady did his best to distract Daddy from the game- not to mention everyone within 20 yards of him.
We made it through the entire game without any meltdowns. He didn't get to bed until just after midnight. It was a long day but he did wonderful. He passed the test!

The Jensons were off to a slow start this morning- Brady was the last one up, he didn't wake up till 9:45! To recover from a long day of tailgating and football, we started the day off with blueberry pancakes. Brady loved them- and he LOVES to feed himself. Mama and the spoon are no longer needed. I was nervous that his face would be blue for days but fortunately it didn't stain his skin- his pj's are a different story!

Even the biggest football fan needs a nap after a big game day!

Hilary got some great pictures of him at the game so I will post more when I have them.

You can learn a lot...

by having older friends. We went to the park today with a good friend and her son who is about 11 months older than Brady. Rhett is an extremely smart kiddo and he was showing Brady the ropes...

He taught Brady how to drive the fire truck

And the art of giving and receiving head bonks

He is also teaching Brady to give "pat pats" and "knuckle knocks" because that is what all the cool kids do.

A day at the park can't be all fun and games- they have to get upset at some point... (I can honestly say that I have no idea why they are making these faces!)

Apparently Brady was not ready to man the fire truck alone!

We packed a lunch a had a picnic on one of the few grass spots by the play scape, we were having a great time until a very bold squirrel decided to join us. I have never seen a "wild" animal so unafraid of people. Despite Rhett continually telling him "No No Squirrel" and me chasing him off- that little guy just kept coming back for more! I think we were more afraid of him than he was of us!

Who looks like his uncle?

Brady got to go to Huntsville last Friday and see Uncle Brad. We had lunch at Uncle Brad's house and even got to go to his office. We saw the property that Grandpa is purchasing and offered opinions on what he should do with it.

On Saturday Brady spent the entire day (9-5) with Grandpa. That is the longest that he has been away from me. Both Grandpa and Brady made it through the day in one piece!

Yesterday Brady hit 2 milestones- he said "dog" about a dozen times and started making a fish face- still no progress on "mama". We practice "dog" all the time because we are constantly surrounded by them but I have no idea where the fish face came from. I will have to get a picture of it because it is too funny. He has also be trying and loving all sorts of food (yogurt, lunch meat, red fish, feta cheese, bread). I love the face he makes the very first time he tries something new!!

9 Months Old

Brady has accomplished a lot in the last few days. On Saturday, he turned 9 months old and attended his first Longhorn Tailgate.

Our monthly chair pictures are becoming progressively more difficult!

We Finally got our hot tub up and running (Thanks Nick and Hil!) so Brady went skinny dipping on Saturday morning and again on Sunday night. Don't worry the water was only 95 degrees- he loved it!

Brady had his 9 month well baby visit today. He weighs 20 lbs (45th percent) and is 28.5 in (60th percent). The doctor was very impressed with his weight gain- he went from 10th percent to 45th! He also got his flu shot so he should be good to go. The dr also told us that he should be eating whatever we are (with some exceptions) so... Brady had spaghetti for dinner. It was a tad messy but he loved it (and the dogs loved cleaning up after him)!

The doctor also told us to start introducing formula in the sippy and start getting rid of the bottle. She warned us that he would probably refuse to take formula out of the sippy at first- not our little man, he drank it down without even thinking twice!

This weekend is the Copperfield Women's Shop Til You Drop- keep your fingers crossed at Beautiful Beginnings is a hit!!

Brady Got Baptised!

Brady is now officially a part of the Catholic Church.
He was baptised on Sunday September 6th at St Theresa's Catholic Church in Austin. He was in a pretty good mood considering Mass was during his nap time. We had a great time celebrating with friends and family!

Gaining Speed...

Last week was a very busy one for us. Grandpa came to visit- he hadn’t seen Brady in almost 2 months! He baby-proofed the cabinets and fixed our sprinkler system. When Grandpa comes in town things get done!

Grandma came in Friday to babysit Brady while Andy and I went to see Wicked. It was amazing! Even Andy was impressed!! Brady got to stay up till after 10 since Grandma was in charge.

Grandma got Brady his Halloween costume- an adorable- I mean very scary lizard. We tried it on him and he laughed and laughed.

Brady is crawling all over the place and getting pretty fast. He has even mastered crawling on the wood floors with long pants on.

Brady has started pulling up on EVERYTHING, from the coffee table to the oven.
Sometime he gets himself into funny positions and can’t figure out how to get out of them.

The dogs (mainly Tyson) follow him around and let him climb all over them. Hadley was asleep on her bed and Brady crawled over and laid down next to her- it was so cute. Of course my camera was no where to be found! He loves to play in the dogs kennels too. It is pretty funny to watch the dogs watching him in their kennels.

Curtains and shoes are among his favorite things to play with at the moment. This morning he discovered the stairs so that will be interesting. We have a baby gate at the top of the stairs (which Tyson figured out how to open) but we may have to add one at the bottom too!
