A Trip to Grammy and Gramps

We went to Grammy and Gramps house for a community BBQ on Saturday evening.

Grammy got a new paddle boat- so we took that out for a spin. Brady really enjoyed it but he is not the best driver! He thought it was pretty funny when Daddy jumped into the lake to cool off. Brady wanted to get in too but didn't want to get his clothes wet... silly boy.

On Sunday we went to a place called "the Slab" in Kingsland. It is a part of the Llano River where there are a lot of wading pools and waterfalls to play in. Brady really enjoyed exploring and splashing in the little pools. I forgot the camera so no pictures of that adventure. On the way home we stopped at DQ to try the brownie batter blizzard- yum!!

Just Hanging Around

Little king of the castle- doesn't he look comfortable with his feet up on Daddy?

Brady loves to be like Daddy... when Daddy gets a golf club out so does B!

Brady has discovered the ipad and he is hooked! We have a train game that he always asks to play.

We got a used sand box for Luke and Elle- Brady is scrubbing it up and getting it all ready for them. What a nice guy!

One of Brady's favorite things to do is "drive" my car. He will sit there and push buttons, turn knobs, adjust mirrors, etc. I find it annoying but hey.
I have been working on a little garden but we don't have many grass areas that get enough sun- so this is my solution. It is small but it's a start. Hopefully things will grow well!

Marco Island FL

Brady and I went on a trip to FL for my cousin's wedding. We flew in and out of Dallas with Em, Bob, Elle and Luke.

A big storm hit right as we were supposed to take off so we sat on the runway for about 2 hours before finally getting on our way. The kids did good on the plane considering the length of our trip. Brady had trouble with his ears on landing but it wasn't too bad.
Gramma got Brady and Luke matching shirts for the rehearsal dinner.

Brady and Shannon really enjoyed playing together. She is my mom's cousin's kid.... not sure what that makes her to Brady but hey.

The resort was beautiful and the kids had a blast in the pool and at the beach.

Brady was in rare form for the wedding (and not in a good way!) We watched from about 100 feet away because he simply would not sit there and be quiet.

They did sparklers for the bride and groom to run though- Brady loved them.

This is the moment before disaster... right after the sparkler went out, Brady reached out a touched it- OUCH! Needless to say he got a huge burn- 3 blisters on his fingers and palm and that was the end of the reception for us.

Aunt Sharon gave us lollipops for the plane ride home- Brady loved them and they help with the ear popping! Thanks Aunt Sharon!

* On a side note- potty training is going very well. Brady did great- even going potty on the airplane potty!

Potty Boot Camp: Day 1

Today was our first day of potty boot camp. When Brady woke up I told him how proud I am of him for going potty in the big potty. He had a huge smile on his face and asked for a "M". I told him that he needed to go potty to get a "M" and he did. We were off to a great start. He went in the potty 9 times and had 1 accident (which I will take the blame for because I was on the phone). Every time he went on the potty he would stand up and say "I did it Mama!" He dumps the little potty into the big potty and flushes all by himself. Such a big boy!

A Big Day for a Big Boy!

Today is a big day!! Before his bath tonight I put the potty seat on the big potty and had Brady sit on it. He wasn't real happy about the idea but he gave in. We talked about how he will need to go on the potty soon and that it is almost time to wear underwear and give up diapers. He was just listening as I went on and on. I told him that if he went pee-pee in the potty I would give him a M&M. He thought about this for a minute, peed and held his little hand out and said "M please Mama!" Needless to say I was shocked. I did not think he would go in the potty- I was just trying to get him excited about it. And I didn't have any M&Ms! He sat on the potty while I ran downstairs and got him a jelly bean. He was excited with that too thankfully! He was SO proud of himself. We called Daddy but he was at work and couldn't answer. Next we called Gramma Dar and Brady told her all about his accomplishment- all the while sitting on the potty. I figured while he was happy up there I wasn't going to make him get down. He told Gramma that he got a M&M as a treat. Gramma said he should get 2 M&Ms for a poop. He sat on the potty for a few more minutes while we talked to Gramma and suddenly we heard "plop!" Brady went poop on the big potty!! He got high-fives, hugs, kisses, praise and of course 2 jelly beans! He sat there with a huge smile on his face for another 5 minutes before finally agreeing to hop down and get in the bath. After bath we called Grammy and left her a message with his good news. Who knew all it would take is (the promise of) M&Ms!! :)

Tomorrow starts "Potty Boot Camp" where you stay home for 3 days, push fluids and try to put them on the potty every 15 minutes (figured I better strike while the iron is hot!). Say your prayers and send positive thoughts our way- hope this goes well!!
