Merry Christmas from New Mexico

The Volker (now Volker/Jenson/Brandon) family packed up 3 suburbans and hit the road for New Mexico for Christmas.  After 11 hours, we made it to a horse ranch we rented a house on right between Angel Fire and Red River.
On our first day of vacation, we headed to Angel Fire for some sledding.
Hard to tell but that's Brady and Elle.
Kenzie is not a huge fan of snow gear and winter hats… I think she did enjoy sledding tho!

Kenzie and Andy took a nap in the snow for about 30 minutes!

 Luke and Grandpa's snowball fight...

 Merry Christmas!
The kids waited (kind of) patiently while we made pancakes and bacon for breakfast before taking turns opening presents.

Brady got the magna tiles he has been wanting for years, along with a crayon melter from Santa, a new Bible, a UT football, a marshmallow gun, a watch, a puzzle, a Lego truck and a sling shot.
I think playing on the stairs while everyone else was distracted with present opening was Kenzie's favorite part of the day!

Kenzie Rose got a picnic basket and outfit from Grandma Dar, a stuffed dog from Grandpa Rollie, a stuffed owl from the Brandon's and a stuffed horse from the Volker's.
My attempt at getting 7 kids to sit for a picture- this is the best we could do!

Merry Christmas!

Mooonbeam Winter Party

Brady's class winter party was a lot of fun for the kids!
They played Winter Bingo with Skittles...
 notice Brady's color-coded markers :)
 made a winter craft,
 played pass the present
and gave Mrs. Miranda a class gift- a Nook and B&N gift cards!
I can't believe that B is halfway through Kindergarten already!

Brady's 6th Birthday Party

Much to my dismay, Brady and Andy wanted to have his birthday party at the house.  He was very specific that he wanted a sports party in the front yard.  I told him that we had to keep it small in case it was too cold to play outside and we had to do a movie party instead.  He invited 8 friends and the weather was perfect!  The kids has a blast playing in the leaves, playing ball and making up all kinds of other games.

Then they all got a cupcake, bowl of frosting and assortment of sprinkles to decorate their own cupcakes.  They really enjoyed that- most frosted their cupcake, ate a little and frosted it again, and again!

Miss Jaime always likes to feed everyone else's kids sweets so it was fun to return the favor!

I think this was frosting round 3 for Brady! (and maybe for Kenzie too!)
Brady also picked out a baseball piƱata- the difference a year in baseball makes!

It was a success!  Happy Birthday, Brady!
