An Update

Brady is done sucking his thumb!! He has done so well- great self control especially for a little guy. I have been watching him on the monitor when he is going to sleep to see how he does. For the first few days he would start to put his thumb in his mouth and remember he wasn't supposed to so he would wrap his blanket around his hand or put his hand under his pillow. So cute. Now he just cuddles his blanket and goes to sleep. Such a bog boy! Amazing what some Thomas rain boots can do(though he still doesn't get to wear them for a few more weeks)!

Our Friends Birthday Party!

R&R had a birthday party last weekend at the mini golf course. We always love to see them and catch up... and play a little golf!

Poor Ty

Tyson is still spending most of his time in his crate so his leg will heal... and to add insult to injury, Brady likes to hang out in there with him. Poor Ty!!

Boys and Their Clubs

Daddy got a new golf bag for Christmas...

At The Park

We enjoyed a beautiful day at the park on Friday. Brady and Ben have a great time playing together!

Does that look like a boy who had surgery 24 hours ago? It did not phase him one bit!!

My New Toy

I used some of my Christmas money to buy a new leaf blower/vacuum/shredder.... it is awesome! And Brady loves to play in the leaf piles. Everyday he tells me that we need to blow the leaves!

Frenuloplasty

Today was a big day for us, Brady had a frenuloplasty to fix his tongue. He was born "tongue tied" which means that the piece of skin that connects his tongue to the bottom of his mouth went pretty much all the way to the tip of his tongue. He had it "clipped" when he was about a week old but it wasn't enough.
Brady was a trooper- he really did amazing. We had to get there at 6:45 am which is very early for both of us. He watched the Polar Express while we waited and talked to all the nurses and answered their questions.

At about 8 am, they came and picked him up in a little red wagon... he was gone for about 30 minutes before the DR came back to let me know that everything went well. Brady was in recovery for about 15 more minutes before they brought him back to me. He was awake and pretty happy. The nurse went on and on about how well he did- said he answered her "yes ma'am" and everything! That's my boy! Good manners even when drugged!!

The nurse gave Brady some sunglasses that he is very proud of.
They told me that he probably wouldn't be that hungry or have much energy- both proved not to be the case! Between 10 am and noon, Brady ate a banana, apple sauce, a donut, 10 peanut butter crackers, another thing of apple sauce and 5 chicken nuggets- and of course a pudding cup. I was shocked- he just kept asking for more!!

I tried to get him to lay on the couch and rest but all he wanted to do was play outside, jump on the trampoline, go for a hike, play on the swing and even ride his scooter.
He has not complained once that his mouth hurts or anything... a TROOPER!
