Navarre Beach Florida

Emily found a great deal on a beach house in Navarre Beach Fl so we all piled in the car and hit the road. Brady and I went to Dallas and rode with Em's crew since Andy could not go.  We woke the kids up at 3:30 am in the hopes that they would go back to sleep in the car.  They didn't.  13 hours and about 5 stops later, we got to the beach house.  All things considered, the ids did great  in the car!

The beach house was great! It was right on the sound and just a few minutes walk from the Gulf.  WE pretty much stayed at our little beach right out the back door.  White sand and gradual, calm waters- it was perfect for us!

 Check out those muscles!

 Doesn't that look relaxing?

Dump trucks are not so good at boogie boarding!

 Check out those hats!

God bless Apple! iPhones are WONDERFUL!
This is a picture of the floor of Bob's Yukon- it was like a hoarders house.  You literally could not see the floor.  I guess that is what happens when you pile 3 adults and 4 kids in for hours!
We left FL at 6 am and made it back to Dallas at about 5:45 pm.  Brady and I packed up our car and hit the road again.  We made it back toAustin at about 9:45 pm.  It was a long day but we had a great trip!

A Trip to the Zoo

On Earth Day, we headed to the zoo... seemed like a good day to be outside in nature.
I just love this little monkey and his stuffed frog!
Brady was sneaking up on the peacock... of course the peacock was watching him the entire time.

 Feeding time at the zoo!

Feeding the dairy goats, you can't tell from this picture but this poor goat desperately needed milked.  Poor girl could barely stand!
In the afternoon we went to the park to do an Earth Day project... we used cookie cutters on spineless cactus and took them home to plant them in our yards!

A Rest Stop for the Riders

This year Andy did not ride in the MS150 so instead, he and Brady headed to the K&N rest stop to help serve the riders. Andy said that Brady did great and was a really good helper. Here he is standing on a table to refill a water cooler (they are under an orange tent). Andy said he wouldn't let anyone help him- insisted he could do it all by himself!
Hard to tell if he is asleep behind those shades.
That is one tired, sweaty little boy!

Camping!!

This weekend, we went to Inks Lake State Park on our first camping trip as a family. Grammy was kind enough to get there early and get us the best campsites- right on the lake.
Brady enjoyed throwing rocking into the water.
Usiing a broken tent pole as a bat and a frisbee as a ball... how well do you think that worked?
Our first camp fire dinner... pulled pork, corn on the cob and watermelon- YUM!
Then we headed to the pier to fish. The fish weren't biting but we still had fun.

Cute lantern for a cute boy
On Saturday, we hiked up this big hill to enjoy the views!

Hanging out down by the water
All in all, it was a great trip! The kids got along really well and slept good too! We can't wait to go again.

Happy Birthday to Me!

Easter Sunday was my 30th birthday so the family (except Grandpa Rollie) came for the weekend.
We had a crawfish boil with friends and it was a ton of fun!
The kids all got along great and were hot and sweaty by the end of the evening!

Watching the kids jump from under the trampoline (generally discouraged but they were all so little we figured it didn't matter)

Playing Jacks with Grandma Dar and Grammy
The dogs LOVE Ms. Jaime and the ice cream!
On Sunday night we headed to Chuy's for some good food and yummy margaritas!

Look at that load!

So Mama is a huge sucker... we rented a bunny and Brady "loves Petra" so now Petra lives with us. Brady and I had to go to Home Depot and buy supplies for his bunny's new home. Look at that happy kiddo.

Orange and White

The Orange and White football game was back on April 1st so we went to cheer on our horns. Hook'Em!!
