Hiking IN Lake Travis

Yep- hiking in the lake- or at least what should be under water but hasn't been in several years.
This is the boat ramp (one we have launched at a few times-long ago).  It's crazy to think that everything you can see behind them should be under 20+ feet of water.  If you look closely, you can see a boat dock sitting on the bottom of the lake- one of several.  We even saw a few boats stranded out there without water.

We did find one little creek that we had to hop across.  The water was chilly!

People have been driving down there, so much so that they created a little road on the bottom of the lake.
It's just crazy how much water we need to get this lake back up.

 We found a waterfall!

Andy taught Brady how to skip rocks.  I think B successfully skipped one.

Kenzie's Baptism

Kenzie Rose was baptized at St Theresa Catholic Church on Saturday, November 30.  Grammy, Gramps, Uncle Dan, Gramma Dar, Emmy, Uncle Bob, Luke & Tate all joined us along with Kenzie's Godfather, Chad.  Deacon Don performed a great service and Kenzie didn't utter a peep.

Kenzie at 2 Months

Kenzie was 2 months old on the 20th.  She seems so big to Andy and I.  She is tracking our voices and following us with her eyes, she smiles a lot and coos.  Brady is so proud when he can get her to smile.  The dogs love her and thankfully she does not seem to mind puppy dog kisses.  She sleeps great at night but has a very hard time napping in her crib (she prefers to be held, ride in the Bjorn or go for a ride in the car).  She goes to bed between 7:00-8:00 pm and I do a "dream feed" around 10 pm- after that she usually sleeps till 3:30 or 4:00 am (she has even made it till 6:30 am a time or two).  Kenzie can roll from tummy to back well and has rolled from back to tummy a few times.  She is holding her head up well and even likes to stand on your lap.

Her 2 month stats:
Height:  22.75"   66 percentile
Weight: 9 lbs 11 ounces   21 percentile
Head: 38 cm  30 percentile

Here is Brady at 2 months.
Andy and I think they look a lot alike (tho maybe not in this picture)

Brady's 2 month stats:
Height: 23"   70 percentile
Weight: 10 lbs 6 ounces   30 percentile
Head: 39.8 cm  45 percentile

I didn't have the blog when Brady was this little so I like having his monthly baby pics on here too.

8 Weeks Old

Kenzie is 8 weeks old today- in some ways it feels like she was just born and in other ways it seems like she has always been a part of our family.  Funny how that works.  I have taken very few pictures of my beautiful girl- I know everyone says that is what happens with the second child and it is proving to be true for us.  I blame 2 things… she always wants to be held and if I put her down she screams (and no one needs screaming baby pictures) and we haven't really done much lately.

Anyways here are a few pictures of the little lady.
Yesterday she tried out the Bumbo seat for the first time.  She seemed to like looking around more but she still does not have great head control so it didn't last long.  Macy is always involved with whatever Kenzie or Brady are doing.

Kenzie can roll for her tummy to her back and has rolled from her back to her tummy twice.  She always sleeps on her right side- no matter how many times I roll her back to her back, she immediately rolls to her side again.
Brady loves to hold Kenzie. This morning they were sitting on the couch together looking adorable- until I get the camera….

When Brady FINALLY smiles, Kenzie starts crying.  Go figure.
A rare nap outside of her carseat or the Bjorrn…. this hardly ever happens! She had fallen asleep in the car while we ran errands and I fully expected her to wake up when I took her out but she just kept right on sleeping so I laid her on the couch while Brady and I played a game.
This was from last week

These are a few old pictures that I had on my phone and never uploaded..

Happy Halloween- Lost Post

I realized that I never posted pictures from the carnival or Halloween- so here we go.
Jaime and I hosted our 3rd Great Hills Halloween Carnival with the help of a few great friends (thank you Kara, Bea and Bianca).  It was a HUGE success. We raised over $1,200 this year- the most of all so far.  The weather was perfect (despite a rainy morning) and everyone seemed to have a great time.  These are the only 2 pictures I took of Brady- I was working the raffle table the entire time (with Kenzie asleep in the Bjorn).

Brady was a construction worker or as he calls it "a road work guy" and Kenzie was a Dalmatian.  She was screaming in these pictures.  She calmed down once I put her in the Bjorn and we started walking but she never did fall asleep. Brady ran from house to house with about 8 other kids from our street.  We made it home about 8:15 with a full candy bucket and 2 tired kiddos.

We carved 4 pumpkins this year- one for each of us.   We had a flower one that I made using drill bits, Lightening McQueen, Texans logo and Brady's Jack-O-Lantern face.  Brady had fun carving but would not touch the pumpkin "guts."

This was the pumpkin that I carved this year- I'm very proud of it.
Hopefully you can tell that it is Lightening McQueen! I think I earned a cool point or two with Brady.
