Meet Miss Macy

A few months ago, Andy and I decided that it was time to start looking for another four-legged family member (besides the bunny we just got).  We knew Tyson's days were getting fewer and Hadley is no spring chicken and we wanted the new dog to spend some time with both of them and blend into our family.  I had been searching pet finder.com on almost a daily basis and Brady and I made several trip to the local shelters looking for just the right match.  We saw Buttercup online and immediately hopped in the car to go meet her.  The SPCA had a few hoops for us to jump through before they approved our adoption.  Buttercup was ready to be picked up the day we left for FL.  We all agreed that the timing wasn't right so poor little Buttercup had to stay at the SPCA until we got back in town.  Lucky for her, her sister was still there with her.  Sunday was an emotional and all around crazy day.  After losing Tyson on Saturday, we got up on Sunday morning and drove him to Killeen to Paws in Paradise, his final resting place, to be buried.  When we got home we picked up Brady and Hadley and went to the SPCA to bring Buttercup home.  Buttercup and Hadley hit it off well and we finalized all the paperwork and promptly renamed her Macy.  It is crazy how the timing worked out and we wish Macy could have known Tyson too but that just wasn't in the cards.

Macy is a lab mix (her mom was a black lab but she isn't saying who the daddy is) .  She has tons of energy and Brady refers to her as my dog (as in "Mama, hold your dog! Mama, get your dog!" etc)  But Brady loves her when she is all worn out and sleeping quietly on her mat.  I forgot how much work a puppy is... but we are so happy to have our little pound puppy at home with us!
