Spring Sing

Thursday was Brady's last day of pre-school and they had "Spring Sing."
It was super cute but Brady didn't do too much singing.  One of the songs was "Puppy, Puppy" so that is why they all have the dog ears on.

 A little participation...
 Look at that cute smile!

When they turned on the bubble machine it was all over.

Meet Miss Macy

A few months ago, Andy and I decided that it was time to start looking for another four-legged family member (besides the bunny we just got).  We knew Tyson's days were getting fewer and Hadley is no spring chicken and we wanted the new dog to spend some time with both of them and blend into our family.  I had been searching pet finder.com on almost a daily basis and Brady and I made several trip to the local shelters looking for just the right match.  We saw Buttercup online and immediately hopped in the car to go meet her.  The SPCA had a few hoops for us to jump through before they approved our adoption.  Buttercup was ready to be picked up the day we left for FL.  We all agreed that the timing wasn't right so poor little Buttercup had to stay at the SPCA until we got back in town.  Lucky for her, her sister was still there with her.  Sunday was an emotional and all around crazy day.  After losing Tyson on Saturday, we got up on Sunday morning and drove him to Killeen to Paws in Paradise, his final resting place, to be buried.  When we got home we picked up Brady and Hadley and went to the SPCA to bring Buttercup home.  Buttercup and Hadley hit it off well and we finalized all the paperwork and promptly renamed her Macy.  It is crazy how the timing worked out and we wish Macy could have known Tyson too but that just wasn't in the cards.

Macy is a lab mix (her mom was a black lab but she isn't saying who the daddy is) .  She has tons of energy and Brady refers to her as my dog (as in "Mama, hold your dog! Mama, get your dog!" etc)  But Brady loves her when she is all worn out and sleeping quietly on her mat.  I forgot how much work a puppy is... but we are so happy to have our little pound puppy at home with us!

Tyson

While Brady and I were in FL, Tyson took a turn for the worse.  Andy said that Tyson could no longer stand or walk and had stopped eating.  We knew his time had come but I was selfishly hoping he could make it until Brady and I got home so we could say good bye to him.  Unfortunately, he could not hold on that long.  Sometime after Andy left for work around 1 pm on Saturday, Tyson passed away in his sleep.  When Brady and I got home at 9:45 pm, we found him in his crate.  We are all so sad and miss him terribly but are taking comfort in knowing that he is not longer in pain.
According to Brady, "Tyson lives with God way way way up in the sky.  We will see him again some day but not for a long long time."

Here are a few pictures of one of the best dogs who ever lived!

Navarre Beach Florida

Emily found a great deal on a beach house in Navarre Beach Fl so we all piled in the car and hit the road. Brady and I went to Dallas and rode with Em's crew since Andy could not go.  We woke the kids up at 3:30 am in the hopes that they would go back to sleep in the car.  They didn't.  13 hours and about 5 stops later, we got to the beach house.  All things considered, the ids did great  in the car!

The beach house was great! It was right on the sound and just a few minutes walk from the Gulf.  WE pretty much stayed at our little beach right out the back door.  White sand and gradual, calm waters- it was perfect for us!

 Check out those muscles!

 Doesn't that look relaxing?

Dump trucks are not so good at boogie boarding!

 Check out those hats!

God bless Apple! iPhones are WONDERFUL!
This is a picture of the floor of Bob's Yukon- it was like a hoarders house.  You literally could not see the floor.  I guess that is what happens when you pile 3 adults and 4 kids in for hours!
We left FL at 6 am and made it back to Dallas at about 5:45 pm.  Brady and I packed up our car and hit the road again.  We made it back toAustin at about 9:45 pm.  It was a long day but we had a great trip!
